The V-day
Looks like the Valentine’s day was either brought forward or postponed this year!
This year I have my Valentine out of my own country. Not in the Caribbean or Maldives but still, I celebrated mine in an Island. They call named her Singapore! Well, it was not a nice little holiday get away thing, it is about he can’t get to me so I have to get to him kind of thing.
Dearie have to work on valentine’s day. So we just meet up for a brief dinner than go home and watch tv with his house mate and then he left to work again. Since it was the first day of CNY, the mall was not very packed with people. MOst of the shops are closed to. Hence, there are not much of the love atmosphere. However, couples still celebrate their love with flowers, food and movies. This valentine does remind me of my old school valentine. How we dress up, take a bus/taxi/mrt to meet our date in the mall ( back then we don’t have a car) and then we had fast-food for dinner (we were not that rich to dine in restaurant), stroll down the street and take a public transport home. Despite of old-school style of celebration, this year drearie gave me a stick of chocolate instead of a stick of flower. (I love choc more than flowers! Flower dies! Choc u can eat them!)
Almost every thing closed here on the first two days of Chinese New Year. It was a boring city besides visiting relative and eating!
One the 3rd day of CNY, the town became lively again. For the 3rd day the Casino in resort world are filled with gamblers. And finally, I can see more couples (compare to actual valentine’s day) coming out from their homes for celebration when I was doing my shopping in Vivo City. I was suppose to shop my my mom’s birthday present but then I was drowned in the nets of couples! With a slap on my face with my own hand I wake my self up and continue shopping which then I realise I can do a lot with SGD100…
SGD100 – a bag (charles and keith) SGD50, A cup of hot Choc (gloria jeans) SGD5.30, Japanese Bento(food junction) SGD 5.90, MRT SGD4
Continue:- I met dearie for dinner after shopping and he comes with something again. It is like V-day does not end!
So do you remember this guy?
I took this when I went for my first visit to Universal studio SG few weeks ago. I thought I could buy them but I did not. And last night dearing pass me a flat piece of stuff in a crumpled Watson plastic bag and say “nah, see what is inside”. At first I was puzzled.. I thought it was food or some stuff he wanna show me. The usual me would press press press and feel the present first before I open. I press s0mething soft and flat and I feel something with legs and buttons. I looked up and smile with my eyes like kitty “is it the gingerbread man?” then he smile bak. Immediately I opened the plastic and pulled out the cute fella which is still wrap in a white paper. YES! It was that guy! My new bed-mate! Almost tear already but then I remind myself..I am in the mall!

Look who is on my bed! His name is Ginger-man...must think of a better one...love it so much and looking at him make me wanna eat him!
Ok..call me childish! Go ahead! haha!
Love can be celebrated anytime. We do not need a special occasion to make it special. Just make it extra special on the special dates.

Call it Gingie!
